Our story
Responsys was founded in 1998 to provide software that would enable marketers to design, execute and manage email campaigns. In 1999, the company launched the industry’s first SaaS email marketing platform, which quickly became a leader in its category. By 2004, with a new management team, Responsys recognized that a fundamental shift was taking place in marketing. Customer relationships were moving from offline to online, from talking at customers to engaging customers in an interactive dialogue. What marketers needed was software that could be used to harness the potential of those online interactive relationships.
In 2005, building on the solid Responsys technology foundation, the company introduced a new approach to interactive marketing, Cross-Channel Lifecycle Marketing, which soon became the industry standard. In 2009, the company introduced the Responsys Interact Suite, the first on-demand interactive marketing Suite. Today, that fundamental shift in marketing has become a revolution that we call New School Marketing. And the Responsys Interact Suite is the software that fuels the revolution.
In April 2011, Responsys became a public company (MKTG on the NASDAQ). The rest, as they say, is history, which is yours to see on our timeline.
