Responsys Continues Record Growth in Second Half of 2008
Company continues market leadership with the addition of world-class brands: Epson America, Johnson & Johnson's Asia Pacific, and Whole Foods Market

San Bruno, Calif. – January 30, 2009 – Responsys, a leading global provider of on-demand email and marketing automation solutions, today announced that it has posted record growth and achieved record-breaking results in 2008 as the company continues to add top brands to its world-class customer list. Industry leaders such as Epson America, Freshpair, Johnson & Johnson's Asia Pacific, Questia Media, Sanrio, Whole Foods Market, and others have recently chosen Responsys for on-demand email and campaign management solutions, driving 40% revenue growth and the company's fifth consecutive year of profitability.

Responsys also recently released Real-Time Messaging™, a service that goes beyond standard triggering capabilities to guarantee time-sensitive email messages are sent immediately and securely when customers take certain actions.

Continuing its infrastructure, applications and operational excellence, Responsys made the following advancements in 2008: • Expanded infrastructure capable of supporting tens of billions of messages per month;
• Achieved production uptime of over 99.9%;
• Increased message volume 40% over 2007;
• Selected and provisioned an additional data center for Q1 2009;
• Upgraded Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technologies across the board; and
• Enhanced monitoring and redundancy, which lead to increased uptime.

In the U.S. Responsys grew headcount by 33% in 2008 with key hires in engineering, client services and sales. Responsys also expanded its San Francisco operations by acquiring a larger downtown San Francisco office space to accommodate its growing staff.

Internationally Responsys drove 60% revenue growth in Europe and continued to increase its staff numbers. Responsys Asia celebrated its first year of operations and grew quarterly revenue at an average of 55% every quarter in 2008. The office was also the proud recipient of Marketing Magazine's 2008 coveted Email Marketing Agency of the Year award.
