Responsys Appoints Ray Everett-Church as Director of Privacy and Industry Relations
Internationally recognized expert brings unrivaled knowledge in privacy and technology policy to leader in on-demand email and marketing automation
San Bruno, Calif. – August 18, 2008 – Responsys, a leading global provider of on-demand email and marketing automation solutions, today announced that Ray Everett-Church has been appointed Director of Privacy and Industry Relations. Mr. Everett-Church, an internationally recognized author and expert on privacy and technology policy issues, became the world’s first “Chief Privacy Officer” in 1999 and has spent the last nine years at the forefront of industry efforts to increase trust and relevance in email and interactive marketing. In his new role at Responsys, Mr. Everett-Church will work closely with the Responsys executive team to continue to set the industry standard for privacy practices and deliverability, and identify new opportunities for the company to leverage its leadership to deliver better experiences to its clients and their customers.

Mr. Everett-Church, the co-author of Internet Privacy for Dummies and Fighting Spam for Dummies, serves as an expert witness on privacy and security matters and is a frequent commentator on privacy and technology policy issues. He joins Responsys from reputation services provider Habeas, Inc., where he was Director of Policy. He has an extensive career as a privacy and security consultant for more than a dozen Global 2000 corporations through his own consultancy PrivacyClue, LLC and the consulting firm ePrivacy Group. He was also part of the management team that built anti-spam technology company TurnTide, Inc., which was sold to Symantec in 2005. Prior to that, he worked at ground-breaking Internet advertising firm AllAdvantage where he created the Chief Privacy Officer position. He also worked as an attorney with the Washington, D.C.-area telecommunications law firm of Haley Bader & Potts, PLC.
