Technical Business Analyst

We are currently seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our team of experts in San Bruno, CA, Chicago, Ill, or Denver, CO. We seek a well-rounded individual willing to assume responsibility and grow at rapid pace. As a member of the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for providing the best possible client experience through high-quality technical support and consulting services for Responsys clients.

The Technical BA will bring a strong consulting background in order to advise clients on data modeling best practices, the identification and resolution of data anomalies, and the creation of source-to-target mappings for ETL developers. The BA will also provide technical advice for integration projects and assist customers with these projects.

Responsibilities:
This position functions as the point of contact for newly acquired Responsys customers as well as existing customers who would like to utilize Responsys ETL services. The candidate is responsible for running data meetings, documenting source and target systems, writing detailed business rule mappings, creating test plans utilizing SQL queries, and using the ETL tool to code transformation jobs.

The candidate will handle this position with a combination of onsite visits, phone / web conferencing, and email. The candidate will write queries to analyze customer data, identify issues, and document the business rules required to code around any of those issues.

In addition, the candidate will:
  • Oversee the technical aspects of each client's ETL environment
  • Serve as the Lead for testing efforts, identifying and resolving any data issues through the use of Oracle SQL queries
  • Quickly understand the business issues and data challenges of client's Technical organization
  • Assist the Customer Account Manager (CAM) to maintain the overall focus of the project team towards successful solution delivery
  • Contribute to continual improvement of methodologies, Best Practices, tools and techniques
  • Contribute to shared repositories of information and technical documentation
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to the Customer Account Manager on issues and progress.

  • Communicates project progress, RI data strategy and ETL environment implementation methodology to client team
  • Understands and can drive client business requirements and actively seeks additional revenue opportunities

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
The Technical BA should possess the following skills:
  • Creative problem solving ability
  • Technical leadership, especially with regard to relational databases and SQL queries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Typically, a Technical BA will hold an appropriate Bachelor's degree along with approximately 3 - 5 plus years of technical and consulting experience. Advanced degree(s) are not necessary however they are considered a plus.

Technical:
  • Solid understanding of Oracle SQL
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and practices, with the ability to code ETL jobs as necessary
  • A minimum of 3 years combined experience in the following industries/disciplines: software consulting, software development, project management, SaaS technologies.
  • Understands implementation life cycle methodologies
  • Knowledge of Web architecture
  • Knowledge of distributed computing concepts
  • Analysis and design skills of moderate complexity
  • Unix and/or Windows (XP, Vista) operating systems experience

Consulting:
  • Experience with database marketing concepts, processes, and goals, including list segmentation and RFM.
  • Experience in implementation and deployment of email marketing applications.
  • Solid project management experience, including task estimation and time management skills
  • Client management and organization/business awareness
  • Risk mitigation
  • Experience with front-end campaign management tools a plus

Communication Skills
  • Provides clearly written status reports to track project progress
  • Develops clear and concise written technical and non-technical documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates active listening and comprehension skills
