Every year the Online Trust Alliance (OTA), a global non-profit that works to enhance online trust across the entire ecosystem, recognizes companies that have gone to great lengths to protect users’ privacy and identity from abuse and exploitation. We’re very pleased that this year the OTA has included Responsys on its Honor Roll, which recognizes website adoption of key technologies to help protect
consumer privacy and security.
As part of the 2012 study, the OTA analyzed the adoption of key security and privacy initiatives, providing benchmark reporting and comparisons between key industry sectors including leading internet retailers, FDIC Top 100 Banks, and social networking sites. Of the companies evaluated by the non-profit, member-based OTA, less than 30% made the grade. This year’s report examined over 1,200 domains and privacy policies,
approximately 3,600 web pages and over 500 million emails. In addition,
public records were analyzed for recent data breach incidents and
settlements with the FTC.
Of particular importance to Responsys is the email authentication portion of the
evaluation. Email authentication is at the core of our business and Responsys prides itself on never allowing a single customer to send an
email that is not 100% compliant with industry standard email
authentication methods. This act of protecting email senders results in a
significantly higher deliverability rate and we find customers have
fewer reputation and security problems as a result.
